Perrin Conferences’ National Asbestos Litigation Conference is coming up September 14-15 in Charleston, SC. I am looking forward to being part of the opening panel discussion “National Trends Driving Asbestos Litigation” at 9:15 am that Wednesday.

I will be joined by fellow panelists Mary Margaret Gay of Gay Jones Kuhn; John “Jack” C. McCants III of Maron Marvel; Michael Owen of The RiverStone Group; Joseph F. Rice of Motley Rice LLC; and Sharon J. Zinns of Zinns Law, LLC.

We will discuss:

  • Filing trends, hot jurisdictions and future projections;
  • Recent verdict trends;
  • Non-traditional jurisdictions that are experiencing increased filings;
  • The evolution of lawyers and law firms in asbestos litigation and how it is changing the way cases are handled and settled.

During our panel conversation, I will share findings and insights from KCIC’s 2021 Asbestos Litigation Year in Review, which breaks down filings statistics by disease, jurisdiction, plaintiff firm, and more.

I hope to see many familiar faces there. KCIC is also one of the conference sponsors, and you can find more information about the conference on the Perrin Conference website.
