Nicholas Sochurek

Managing Director

Nick Sochurek has extensive experience in leading complex insurance policy reviews and analysis for a variety of corporate policyholders using relational database technology.

Nick has a thorough understanding of insurance policies written in both the domestic and London Markets. He is a specialist in insurance policy analysis and capturing key terms, conditions and exclusions from policies using cutting-edge database technology. Nick has personally reviewed and analyzed thousands of policies since joining KCIC in 2004. His deep understanding of how assumptions about policy terms can be modeled — and what effect they might have on allocations — is a tremendous benefit to clients. He has also worked with policyholders to locate long-lost insurance policies and to secure cooperation from carriers to help fund the defense and settlement of claims.

Nick has deployed these skills in service of clients facing coverage battles over a variety of losses – asbestos, environmental, pharmaceuticals, other product liabilities, and sexual abuse claims, to name a few. That industry expertise, combined with a deep understanding of KCIC’s Ligado Platform, means Nick brings fresh perspective to clients who are looking to better understand and manage their coverage.

Further, he has a great deal of experience with insolvent estates; when clients are confused about how to respond to claims filing deadlines, he can help tease out the important details.

On the personal side, Nick cherishes time with his wife and three children, is active at their church and schools, and has served as treasurer of his neighborhood’s community pool. He’s also a fan of all things Baltimore – the Orioles, the Ravens and the Maryland Terrapins.
